【旅する理由は何だろう】世界を旅するアルゼンチンの双子に聞いてみた

イングリッシュハウスにはインターンとして、アルゼンチン出身の兄弟が滞在していました。

なんとこの兄弟は双子で約４年間パフォーマンスをしながら資金を集めて世界を旅しているようです。

今回はこの２人にお話を聞いてみます。

それぞれの自己紹介お願いします。

Could you introduce a little bit yourself? (自己紹介よろしくいねがいします。)

I’m Emilio from Argentina. I’ve been traveling around the world for four years and now I`ve started to perform doing street music and juggling.

エミリオです。アルゼンチンから来ました。ストリートパフォーマンスをしながら4年間旅をしています。

I’m Leandro traveling with my twin brother.

レアンドロです。一緒に旅をしている。双子の兄弟です。

以下エミリオ、レアンドロの順番で聞いていきます。

この４年で何カ国旅をしましたか？

How many countries have you been in these 4 years ?（この4年間で何カ国旅をしましたか？）

I`ve visited 16 countries.

１６カ国です。

I`ve visited 21 countries.

２１カ国です。

旅をしようと思ったきっかけはなんですか？

What made you start traveling?(旅を始めるきっかけはなんでしたか？）

I was tired with the routine life and always wanted to go on a big adventure around the world.

毎日繰り返しの生活に疲れてしまったから、世界を廻る大冒険がしたかったんだ。

I have many reasons but the most important was stop my normal life. To visit new places and to make friends anywhere. I wanted to learn how to live traveling because I don`t think it`s necessary to stay in one place to live happily.

たくさん理由はあるけど、普通の生活をやめるのが１番だったね。いろいろな新しい場所を訪ねて、友達を作る。僕は、同じ場所で幸せに過ごす事が必要だとは思わないから、旅で生き方を学びたかったんだ。

旅での生活方法を教えてください。

Please tell me the way of living when you are traveling?（旅での生活の方法を教えて下さい）

I’ve been helping as Volunteer, visiting friends and performing music on the street, in buses, trains and Cafés to make money.

ボランティアとして友達を訪ねたり、路上やバス、電車、カフェで旅の資金を集める為にパフォーマンスをしています。

I always travel trying to spend the least amount of money as possible, for that I hitch hike, get voluntary jobs, use Couchsurfing and perform music and juggling on the street to get some money. We also we try to meet people who like to help travelers and sometimes we find very nice people who help us by giving us food, someplace to sleep or some money. For us the most important thing is to be able to eat and have somewhere to sleep.

ヒッチハイク、ボランティアの仕事、カウチサーフィングで可能な限り節約をしながら、路上パフォーマンスで資金を稼いでいます。僕たちにとって、食べること寝ることは一番大切な事です。旅人を助けてくれる、応援するのが好きな人たちにも出会うようにしています。時々食事や寝床、資金を提供してくれる優しい人がいますよ。

アルゼンチンでは何をしていましたか？

What was your occupation in your country?(アルゼンチンでは何をしていましたか？）

I was working in tourism for almost 10 years. My work was fun because I traveled a lot and met a lot of people. But I felt a little bit bored with my life because I was doing the same thing for long time.

観光事業で１０年程働いていました。たくさん旅をしたり多くの人に出会ったり楽しかったです。しかし、同じ事を長い間していると退屈に感じてきました。

My job in Argentina was in tourism companies. I was a guide and entertainer in different touristic cities. Also, I played rugby and study communication in the university.

僕の仕事も観光業です。　ガイドとエンタテイナーとして他の観光都市にいました。　ラグビーをして、大学でコミュニケーション学を勉強していました。

印象に残っている国や出来事を教えてください。

Could you tell me what country or what event you had the strongest impression?（印象に残っている国や出来事について教えて下さい）

I was playing music in the train for the Russian ARMY. They got very excited and their　reaction made us very surprised and happy. Also, they helped us with very good money!!

電車の中でロシアの軍人たちに演奏しました。　彼らはとても喜んでくれて、そのリアクションに僕たちはとても驚いて、幸せな気分にさせてくれたよ。

I was juggling at the traffic light in Mexico and one guy gave me 500 Mexican pesos! I was very surprise cause was a lot of money for me and I would have never expected something like this performing at the street. I was very happy!!!

メキシコにいた時、信号の前でジャグリングをしていたら、一人の人が５００メキシコペソ（約３０００円）をくれた。　大きなお金だったから驚いたよ。このような路上パフォーマンスをするとは想像していなかったからとてもハッピーだったね。

旅の途中で危険なことはありましたか？

Did you not encounter any danger in your trip?（旅の途中で危険なことはありましたか？）

I came back to my friend’s house in Brazil near to a Fabela. An officer in a police car pointed a gun at me and asked in Portuguese “What are you doing Here?” He thought that I wanted to buy drugs. I just answered in Spanish and he said “Go away”

ブラジルのファベーラ（スラム街）に近くにある友達の家に帰った時に、パトカーの中から警官が拳銃を突きつけてポルトガル語で｢ここで何をしているんだ？｣と尋ねられたよ。警官は僕が麻薬を買おうとしていると思っていたんだ。僕がスペイン語で答えると｢あっちへ行け｣と言われたよ。笑

When we stayed in Contis beach in France we get a tandem bicycle. The distance to the beach was 2.5 km. from our house. One night we decided to go to the beach at night, but the bike didn’t have a light and the road was totally dark. It was very funny but very dangerous!

フランスのコンティにある海岸で二人乗り自転車に乗ったんだ。家までの距離が2.5キロで、ある夜に海岸まで行くことにしたんだけど、自転車にライトが付いていなくて、道がとても真っ暗だった。とても楽しかったけど、危なかったね。笑

オススメの国はありますか？

Do you have any recommended country?（オススメの国はありますか？）

I absolutely recommend you visit Switzerland because is a very beautiful country and the people are very nice.

スイスをオススメするよ。とても美しい国でみんないい人だよ。

I recommend travel in Russia because people are very friendly and they love to connect with travelers. You can get a cheap train and food is not expensive. And if you performing in the street Russians are very helpful!

ロシアをオススメするよ。フレンドリーだし、ロシアの人は旅人が好き。電車が安いし、食べ物も高くない。もしあなたが路上パフォーマンスしたら助けてくれるよ。

日本の第一印象はいかがでしたか？

What was your first impression of Japan?（日本の第一印象はいかがでしたか？）

My first impression was that in this country everything is in order and people are very busy.

日本はすべてがキッチリして、みんな忙しい印象だったね。

My first impression about Japan was that is a very developed country where everything is under control, clean and safe.

日本は発展していてすべてがキレイで安全だね。

これから旅をする人にアドバイスはありますか？

Do you have any advice for travelers?（これから旅をする人にアドバイスはありますか？）

I can say for everybody who want to visit other countries that no matter where you go you will find good people and if you have problems people always are very happy to help tourists. So don’t be afraid about different languages, religions, culture or traditions, you always can find people like you!

僕からみんなに言えることは、どこの国に行っても良い人を見つけることができる。もし問題が起こったとしても、いつも喜んで助けてくれる。だから、言語や、宗教文化や習慣の違いを恐れないことだね。あなたのような優しい人を見つけることができるよ！

If you want to start to travel you need to think that is not important material things or money, the most important is the connection with people. Don’t be afraid to speak a new language or eat a new food, open your mind and try to be friendly and show love to everyone in your way.

旅を始めたいと思った時に必要なのは物やお金じゃないと考えること、最も大切なのは人と繋がること。新しい言葉を話す事や食べる事を恐れないで、心をオープンにして仲良くなる、そしてすべての人にあなたの方法で愛を示してください。

OEHについて一言お願いします。

please tell me your thoughts about OEH.（OEHについて一言お願いします。）

OEH is a very interesting a super cozy place to live! Everybody has nice vibes and super cool energy. From the first day I’m feel like at home with my family and friends. One of the best experience in my travel! I will miss OEH!!

OEHはとても楽しくて超居心地の良い家だね。みんな良い雰囲気でエナジーがある。初日からまるで家族と友達の様に感じたよ。僕の旅で最高の一つの旅の思い出だよ。さみしくなるね。

After stayed 2 weeks in OEH I think that is a very good place to experience Japan and get new friends. The atmosphere is very nice and everybody is very friendly and interested to know about you and your culture. I will never forget the time in OEH, it made me very happy and change a lot of my thoughts about Japanese people. I love OEH!!!

OEHでの2週間が過ぎて思うことは日本を体験する、新しい友達になるにはとてもいい場所。雰囲気がとても良くみんなとてもフレンドリーでお互いの文化に興味がある。ココで過ごしたことは決して忘れない、OEHは僕をとてもハッピーにしてくれて日本人に対する考えを変えてくれた。アイラブOEH!!!

最後にアルゼンチンの双子のパフォーマンスです。

2週間の短い間でしたが、OEHを盛り上げてくれました。2人はまだ日本に滞在していて、今日もどこかで路上パフォーマンスをしていることでしょう。見かけたら声をかけて、応援してあげて下さい！
